We treat your physical conditions to keep you healthy, active and pain free.

The Bends holistic approach includes chiropractic care to correct conditions of the spine. For those that need physical rehabilitation we offer personal instruction and specialize in yoga to build strength and flexibility.

We take a whole person approach that includes physician guided treatment, rehabilitation and lifestyle wellness practices and lifestyle coaching to help stabilize the body and mind. We want to keep you biking the Whitefish Trails, hiking in Glacier National Park, or any activity that keeps you physically fit and feeling your best.

Our Treatment Philosophy

Pain prevention starts before you actually feel any pain.

Pain is often the result of an injury or from the accumulation of age, posture, repetitive motion, or emotional and physical stress. Most people seek chiropractic treatment when they feel pain. For chiropractors, this is a little backward because our goal is to prevent pain. Typically, we like to treat accumulation of minor injuries over the years.

Consider the everyday bends in your life.

Our ability to bend forward, backward and sideways gives us the freedom to enjoy an active lifestyle and naturally impacts our quality of life and livelihood.

Life is better when we can bend.

Out of necessity we bend our spines and joints to do things like tie our shoelaces. Out of excitement we bend to greet our furry friends. For fun we to bend to dip on the dance floor, throwback our head in laughter, and play our favorite sport.

Bending, twisting, squatting, and rolling over requires strength, flexibility, balance and shock absorption.

When your body can move appropriately and you feel physically well, it’s easier to enjoy an active Montana lifestyle. Whether hiking, snowshoeing, golfing, or simply enjoying your favorite patio, health and fitness are important. Small aches and pains can go from annoying to debilitating if left untreated. Chiropractic care is for pain and wellness for those wanting a pain free active lifestyle. Dr. Putnam talks about her own struggle with pain and provides tips on treatment, nutrition and exercise in her blog, which you can read here.

Back Pain and Degeneration.

Over time, injuries and the subtle wear and tear we endure from poor or demanding postures can result in back pain. Repetitive movements and over or underuse accumulate and result in degeneration and arthritis.

At The Bend, Chiropractic & Yoga, in Whitefish our goal is to treat existing injuries and help prevent new injuries so you can enjoy an active lifestyle even if you have old injuries or arthritis.

Supplements or Salmon? (nutrition requirements are a moving target)

People are in varying states of health. Some folks are in optimal health with vitality and others are in a stage of disease. Most, are in between stages of health. They are either repairing and gaining on their health or moving closer to symptoms of disease. We are either in the process of degenerating or regenerating. Anabolism or catabolism. Health is not static, so where you are on the health spectrum dictates your requirements for exercise, nutrients, sleep and maybe even supplementation or medication.
