Why Yoga in a Chiropractic Office?
Dr. Putnam discovered the benefits of yoga personally and began to view it through the lens of a physical medicine physician. She realized yoga can be subtle or demanding and therefore can be applied to almost all body types. Different poses highlight muscle imbalances and yoga becomes a diagnostic tool. Other poses offer rehabilitative qualities that are especially good for stabilizing spine and joint conditions. Yoga as a class may not be for everyone, yet, Dr. Putnam’s ability to see injury and rehabilitation with the influence of yoga broadens healing avenues for those who have not previously considered it for themselves.

If you are unsure where to start or have concerns about whether or not yoga is for you, join a class or take a private lesson. Dr. Putnam will introduce you to basic yoga postures and techniques, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and experience how it feels to you. Is Yoga for Me?
Yoga is for everyone, whether you are old or young, coordinated or not, short, tall, an athlete or a couch potato. It is accessible to all body types, shapes and ages. Consider yoga if you are seeking health and wellness and want to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. Yoga can be as restful or as rigorous as you want it to be and modification can be provided for most body types and health conditions. The benefits include core strengthening, toning, improved balance and feeling more relaxed and connected to your physical and emotional body.
Helpful Tips for First Time Guests:
- Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early before your first class to fill out new member consent form.
- Wear something comfortable. Layers may be best.
- Bring a mat if you have one or we have a few to loan or purchase.
- Bring a water bottle (with lid) and towel.
- Let the teacher know about any health issues or concerns before class. If you have a serious injury, medical condition or are pregnant, please check with your physician before beginning yoga.

Thursday evenings from 6-7 PM.
Thursday is an all levels yoga class.
All classes include mindful awareness about posture, spinal care, core stability and healthy motion patterns.

Yoga for Health Recovery This 6 week yoga restorative/beginning yoga class offers a space for recovery, attention, time, and thoughtful knowledge based instruction to help you with your recovery. It is for those who are ready to feel better and move towards healthy recovery and more vitality. It will provide a space, a direction and openings in mind, body and spirit.

Yoga for Neck & Back Recovery Spinal and core movement are the focus of this 4 week class. Exercise & stretch instruction to heal, reduce pain and prevent recurrent episodes of back or neck pain.
